Eulachacha Waikiki: A Happy Place for the Dreamers

Whether you are someone who is busy chasing your dream right now, or someone who is uncertain about your actual dream, the Korean drama "Eulachacha Waikiki" is for you.

Three men run a guesthouse named Waikiki at Itaewon, South Korea. Kang Dong Goo (Kim Jung Hyun), the “CEO” of the place, dreams of becoming a movie director, but he is without luck. Lee Jun Ki (Lee Yi Kyung), the son of a famous actor, wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps but has only been given minor roles. Bong Du Shik (Son Seung Won) is an aspiring scenario writer, who has written a flop online novel so far.

They are facing bankruptcy and barely able to pay their rent when a mysterious baby suddenly appeared. They could have brought her to the police station but decided to keep her until someone comes to fetch her.

It didn’t take them long to wait because the baby’s mother, Han Yoon Ah (Jung In Sun) appeared to get her back. With no place to go, the three friends offered her to stay in the guesthouse and work for them in return. However, it seems that she has no more luck than the three men. She is a clumsy woman, whose dream is to become a rapper – a talent she is, well, not really good at.

A Drama Full of Laughter

Eulachacha Waikiki guarantees a lot of ‘ROTFL’ moments. From the first episode until the recent ones, there is no down mood. Everything is hilarious, from the characters to their situations.

The Life Lessons

Laughter is one thing, but it doesn’t just end there. The drama also gives meaningful life lessons and inspiration to the viewers. It particularly appeals to those who are having hard a time reaching for their dreams.

A story of six individuals with different dreams and different hilarious situations, this drama tells us to hold unto our dreams and believe.

7 Touching Korean Movies that Aren’t ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’

As much as we love watching Korean dramas, we are also hooked on movies made in South Korea. It’s just proof of how good Koreans are at telling stories that don’t just make you laugh, or amazed, but also touch your heart. Below are seven of the many Korean movies, other that the tear-jerking, heart-wrenching  Miracle in Cell No. 7  that will surely warm your heart. My Annoying Brother/ Hyung  (2017) A film starring Jo Jung Suk, EXO’s D.O. and Park Shin Hye. It is labeled as a comedy, but you may add it to the drama category for the heartwarming scenes that will leave you in tears. The movie tells the story of Doo Shik (Joo Jung Suk) and his younger step-brother, Doo Young (D.O.). Doo Shik is jailed for fraud, while Doo Young is a promising judo athlete, who went blind due to a competitive match. Using his brother’s situation, Doo Shik pleads with the parole board for his release from prison. Upon coming home, he found the house in disarray and Doo Young shut away from the...

Understanding the "Huh?" Factor of the 'Grid': A Korean Drama Review

Well, I don't think we could understand it, do you? Spoilers ahead! 'Grid' tells the story of Kim/Kwon Sae Ha (Seo Kang Joon), an employee of the Administration Bureau, who witnesses a murder and detective Jung Sae Byeok (Kim Ah Joong), who has been the one in charge of the murder investigation until the case is transferred to the Bureau. The two have somehow gotten entangled in the case for the same but different reasons: the Ghost. The Ghost (Lee Si Young) is a time-traveling woman from the future who is also the founder of the Grid, the defense shield protecting the Earth from the solar flare in 2005. She is also the one who killed Sae Ha's father and the person who helped the murderer Kim Ma Nok evade the police. She appears before Sae Byeok while the latter is chasing Ma Nok and disappears right there and then---the reason why Sae Byeok is looking for her. I am not a big fan of Science Fiction, especially those poorly made ones, but I remember getting excited about...

2022 KDramas Rundown: Personal Faves and More!

2022 did not fail to serve us quality Korean dramas. Fans, like me, had a hard time catching up. Proof to show is my growing list of Kdramas to finish and watch! But as 2023 comes with more series to stay up late at night for, I am presenting my quick review of the Korean dramas I watched, I am yet to finish and are still on my watchlist. Warning: contains spoilers. 1.      AGAIN MY LIFE 3/5 Lee Joong Gi, Kim Ji Eun I love this series, but the ending is a letdown. It feels wrong that Kim Hee Woo (Lee Joong Gi), who is fighting for justice and avenging his own death (which led to his second shot at life), decided to join the political race to beat Cho Tae Sub (Lee Geung Young) rather than use his position as a prosecutor. I am even more disappointed when Tae Sub “died” although it is not clear if it was really him who was found dead in the ocean. He might have faked his own death, you know. Still, it does not feel justice is served. Another villain has appeared befor...
