5 Times Netflix's "Celebrity" Surprised Me

It's been a long time since I binge-watched a Korean drama. The last Korean drama I finished in one sitting was "Duty After School" Season 1 (so it's not really been a long time yet lol). I actually had no intention of watching Netflix's freshly dropped series "Celebrity", but the plot piqued my interest, so I gave it a go. And boy, it was a mistake: I had to stay overnight to finish it. The good thing was the meeting I had the following day was canceled. LMAO. Anyway, "Celebrity" is about Seo A-Ri (Park Gyu Young), an 'e-celebrity' who is supposedly dead but returns from death to do a live stream and expose the true and ugly side of the glitzy and glamorous world of influencers. This is what I read somewhere (I could not find it anymore), which hooked me to watch this new series. It is soooo addicting to watch especially when I couldn't really tell what will happen next. Everything is so fresh and new and surprising that I question...

Kim Dong Wook and His Intelligent Choice of Works

One of my favorite dramas, "Find Me in Your Memory" "My Perfect Stranger" just ended and I believe it isn't just me who misses the series and its cast. Good thing for me though, as a fan of Kim Dong Wook, his drama "Delightfully Deceitful" is still ongoing. How I Discovered Him In 2017, "Along with the Gods" starring Cha Tae Hyun, Ha Jung Woo, Ju Ji Hoon, and Kim Hyang Gi was released in cinemas. I watched it because of Ju Ji-hoon and because it was really interesting. That was when I discovered Kim Dong Wook who played the role of Soo Hong, the brother of Kim Ja Hong (Cha Tae Hyun). Then in 2020, the series "Find Me in Your Memory" aired. I watched it because of Moon Ga Young, but it immediately became one of my favorite series. I think I have re-watched it three times already. The story is just so interesting and the chemistry between Ga Young and Dong Wook is just through the roof. From then, I promised I'd watch out for Dong...

Understanding the "Huh?" Factor of the 'Grid': A Korean Drama Review

Well, I don't think we could understand it, do you? Spoilers ahead! 'Grid' tells the story of Kim/Kwon Sae Ha (Seo Kang Joon), an employee of the Administration Bureau, who witnesses a murder and detective Jung Sae Byeok (Kim Ah Joong), who has been the one in charge of the murder investigation until the case is transferred to the Bureau. The two have somehow gotten entangled in the case for the same but different reasons: the Ghost. The Ghost (Lee Si Young) is a time-traveling woman from the future who is also the founder of the Grid, the defense shield protecting the Earth from the solar flare in 2005. She is also the one who killed Sae Ha's father and the person who helped the murderer Kim Ma Nok evade the police. She appears before Sae Byeok while the latter is chasing Ma Nok and disappears right there and then---the reason why Sae Byeok is looking for her. I am not a big fan of Science Fiction, especially those poorly made ones, but I remember getting excited about...

2022 KDramas Rundown: Personal Faves and More!

2022 did not fail to serve us quality Korean dramas. Fans, like me, had a hard time catching up. Proof to show is my growing list of Kdramas to finish and watch! But as 2023 comes with more series to stay up late at night for, I am presenting my quick review of the Korean dramas I watched, I am yet to finish and are still on my watchlist. Warning: contains spoilers. 1.      AGAIN MY LIFE 3/5 Lee Joong Gi, Kim Ji Eun I love this series, but the ending is a letdown. It feels wrong that Kim Hee Woo (Lee Joong Gi), who is fighting for justice and avenging his own death (which led to his second shot at life), decided to join the political race to beat Cho Tae Sub (Lee Geung Young) rather than use his position as a prosecutor. I am even more disappointed when Tae Sub “died” although it is not clear if it was really him who was found dead in the ocean. He might have faked his own death, you know. Still, it does not feel justice is served. Another villain has appeared befor...
